It depends on what you look for in an RPG; highlights for each, IMO, are:



Gothic 3: Uh, haven't tried this one yet...



The Witcher: It brings morality and story telling to a whole new level. If you like a dark, mature (both in content and that this is a thinking-man's game, including combat in the higher difficulty settings) theme to your gaming try this one. On the flip side, there's not much in the way of customization; no character classes, limited selection of weapons, etc.



Fallout 3: From your list, this is the most non-linear game. If you like exploration, this is the one you should get. It's five add-ons/DLCs also prolong gaming time. Add to that a (very) active modding community. So, again, if you like exploring a big world, shaping and fine tuning your character, and the ability to customize your game with tons of new areas, weapons, characters, textures, and more, this is the one for you. Personally though, I'd suggest you try the first two games in the series.



Neverwinter Nights 2: This one is for 'traditional' RPG fans; it has a great story, a host of interesting characters. But it hasn't really aged well, and now, it pales in comparison to newer titles.



Dragon Age: Origins: This is one of the best RPGs to date. It has a great and engaging stories, likable characters, and a believable world where everything - from your class and race to sub-quests - influences the world you walk in. Recruitable NPCs are also much more than simple meat-shields and damage dealers, and truly enliven the game.







Bottom line:

If you want to 'play' a mature-themed novel: The Witcher

If you want a huge sandbox you can customize to your heart's content: Fallout 3

If you wan an epic story: Dragon Age: OriginsWhich one of these PC RPGs should I play next?
